Roadkilled deer are bad news. In Missouri, for example, over 8,000 accidents occur each year involving deer and vehicles. Accidents are more likely to happen in the fall, and at dawn or dusk, when deer are moving around. And, while the abundance of deer plays a role in accidents, the volume of traffic adds to the problem. Most accidents occur in urban areas. Look for deer eye reflection in your headlights and remember, if one deer runs in front of your car, it's likely others will follow. http://mdc.mo.gov
